Nissan Figaro valve collet

Genuine Nissan Figaro valve collet. Valve collects are located in the cylinder head, you have two collets per valve. They act as a pair and have a tapered outside surface to allow them to lock into valve spring retainer. On the inside of the collet there is a ridge which is used to position the collect axially on the valve. The valve has a corresponding groove which the collect ridge can locate.
